   I'm way late on mentioning this (I guess I didn't read this post when it   
   was first posted), but there is at least some "evidence" of this, at   
   least according to _Warriors of Legend: Reflections of Japan in Sailor   
   Moon_.  While I felt a great deal of the information presented in   
   earlier chapters was suspect (evidence of Ami's father being abusive?   
   Where?), there are cited sources for information regarding phone calls   
   to TV Asahi, and children suffering from autotoxemia due to the shock of   
   episode 45.
