   While this may be a prequel, to me it plays like it wasn’t intended to   
   be seen until the end.  A lot of the in-jokes would go over the head of   
   someone not familiar with the series already.  Very over the top and a   
   lot of fun, as long as you don’t try to take it too seriously, kinda   
   like the series as a whole.   
      
   Minako becomes Sailor V on Christmas Eve.  She’s already a pop idol.   
      
   We get to see just about everyone, in some way shape or form is this   
   episode.  Even characters I couldn’t quite place looked kinda familiar.   
      
   The Shittennou cops were hilarious, if you could tell who was who and   
   could keep up with them.  They seemed to have a great deal of fun   
   parodying themselves.   
      
   Ah, for the days when Naru’s biggest problem was her mother’s store   
   possibly getting robbed.   
      
   Mamoru finds out who Sailor V is, thanks in large part to Usagi’s   
   obsession with her favorite idol.   
      
   We at least get a brief look at all the main characters.  Ami is just   
   outside the group of friends, wanting to be included, but at the same   
   time, clearly isolated.  Rei we see only briefly at her shrine.  Makoto   
   is looking for a place of her own, but having trouble.  Motoki is just   
   getting his turtle.  (No!  Take it back!  Save your own dignity!!!)   
   Mamoru is already Tuxedo Kamen, and looking for the Silver Crystal, and   
   Motoki is worried that he’s acting weird, so he calls Hina to ask what’s   
   going on.   
      
   Usagi’s wish is, of course, doomed to fail.  Whoever heard of wishing on   
   a falling cat?  Luna in re-entry was worth a chuckle though.
