   Act 2 - Ami Became a Friend   
      
   Wasting no story time at all, Sailor Mercury gets her introduction in   
   Act 2.   
      
   This is the first appearance of the secret base hidden in Crown   
   Karaoke where the senshi can hang out, chat and plan strategies. The   
   door to the base is hidden and only shows itself to the senshi. What   
   was Luna thinking to include candy dispensers and a karaoke machine.   
   ^_^   
      
   Usagi continues to show the qualities that make her special, reaching   
   out to a classmate (Ami) who appears to have no friends. Minidisk   
   players must be really popular in Japan for Usagi to simply assume   
   that Ami would have one.   
      
   The way that both Usagi and Ami treated Luna in a respectful way, even   
   before they knew who Luna was made me think she must look like a real   
   cat to the characters in the story. However Usagi did refer to Luna as   
   a stuffed cat, so I suppose I must have missed that the first time   
   through.   
      
   It seems that Ami was reluctant to become a senshi because she   
   misunderstood Usagi's reasons for liking her and not so much because   
   she didn't want the adventure. That was a nice touch, Ami brought a   
   treat to share between the two of them, but then ate alone because she   
   thought Usagi only liked her because she was a senshi (which, BTW, she   
   didn't seem to have any problem accepting as fact even before the   
   transformation).   
      
   We get another wonderfully whimsical meeting between Usagi and Mamoru   
   on the walkway. That was pretty sharp of Mamoru to immediately figure   
   out what Usagi was doing and that she was heading to the wrong school.   
      
   Ami origin story for PGSM is very similar to her anime one, what with   
   all her classmates being overcome by the youma except for her. In the   
   end, Usagi wins her over and she agrees to transform and join forces.   
   Her henshin device is a charm bracelet worn on the wrist.   
      
   Sailor Moon gets two new attacks, Moon Tiara Boomerang and Moon   
   Twilight Flash. Mercury's attack is Mercury Aqua Mist illustrating   
   that Mercury's power is still water based.   
      
   Wikimoon has been a great resource here. I found out that the ballet   
   style of fighting I mentioned before is called "ballet-fu" by the   
   fans. Wikimoon also pointed out that the senshi call each other by   
   name even when transformed which would seem like an identity giveaway   
   for sure.   
      
   As the scene closes, Tuxedo Mask watches from overhead, noting that   
   now there are two senshi. I wonder if he saw Ami's transformation.
