There's a persistent       .. rumor that after the deaths of the senshi in episode 45, letters of       protest flooded the TV station -- it seems like this would have drawn       even more."              "I'm way late on mentioning this (I guess I didn't read this post when       it was first posted), but there is at least some "evidence" of this, at       least according to _Warriors of Legend: Reflections of Japan in Sailor       Moon_. While I felt a great deal of the information presented in earlier       chapters was suspect ..."                     Umm.. Such as?? Do tell. We've had a lot of authoritative figures copy       edit the original manuscript, and we have sources for our information. I       wouldn't mind a private email as to what you think is "suspect". We're       still double-checking the info even today.              We did a lot of research into the info in the otaku-intensive Datahouse       books. If you feel there was something else you care to comment about, I       can provide a copy of your comments to our staff.                     "...there are cited sources for information regarding phone calls to TV       Asahi, and children suffering from autotoxemia due to the shock of       episode 45."              The daughter of a radio host had that. Missed a week of school with a       high fever after the episode aired.              And as the person from GENVID who actually translated that bit of text,       while the letters of protest part hasn't been double checked, the fact       of the phone calls of desperate parents flooding TV Asahi is pretty much       the truth.              "Found on page 142 and 143. Cited source: Juuban Irregulars. _Sailormoon       R no Himitsu_ Tokyo: Datahouse, 1994. Pages 95-96"              Yeah. I translated that. ^_^ Jay's in Japan hoping to find the very       issue (and all other Animage issues that mention Sailor Moon) that has       these bits. I still have the translation on my HP Jornada PDA. He may       have found the issue by now. ^_^              I'm going to check on the bit where Takeuchi didn't intend for Sailor       Moon to run more than a year, and never expected it to be so popular so       she killed them off before the end.              ja ne nyo deshi punyoun na no da...              I love it when people talk about the bits I worked on. The part about       Rei's kuji and the thing she does... Well... ^_^;;;; Something got lost       in the editing. Dammit. Still is interesting reading though.              "Read this very carefully, I shall type this only once nyo!"       "There would be little point in typing it twice nyo!!" - 'Allo 'Allo nyo              "They make crayONs; do they make crayOFFs?"              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
