It's an accurate translation. Makoto called her "tsumetai" which can
mean: cold (to the touch), chilly, icy, freezing, cold-hearted, or
   unfriendly (among other synonyms.)

I found that noteworthy as I was watching the show and writing my notes.
     Pretty brutal on Makoto's part.

But she's so domineering and sexy standing up there.

...surely I'm not the only one that thinks Beryl is kinda sexy in PGSM?
     Right?

This Beryl definitely has some respect for loyalty, unlike the anime
version. She accepts failure moderately well, as long as the person who
failed remained loyal to her cause.

I was rather surprised by this as well. Good to know that Luna covers
   all the bases. ^_-

   Anyway, to continue on...

Ami isn't wearing her glasses in the karaoke room when the episode
starts up. Is she finally starting to feel secure without the
"protection" that having that additional barrier between her and the
   world provided?

Shingo plants silly ideas in Ikuko's head. That entirely family is nuts.

I realized I wear the same gloves at work that Zoisite wears. I swear,
they're the exact same thing! (I intern in library's special
collections, and have to wear gloves when handling certain items).

The name "Hino" is finally referened when Kurata-san mentions "Hino-sensei".

I LOVED the scene between Mako and Rei, particularly with the tomfoolery
afterwards. I noticed that when Makoto makes the comment about not
having a family and not knowing about that sort of thing, Rei has a
momentary look of shock. I'm not entirely certain anyone beyond Usagi
(and maybe Ami since they attend the same school) realizes Makoto's
   familial situation.

Makoto is really the mother of the group (as well see more of in a later
episode). As Sailor Moon sleeps on the floor, Jupiter gently strokes
her hair, just like a mother would do. It's very interesting to see the
contrasting nature of Makoto. Beating up the guards, but then
protecting Rei. Kicking some tail, then gently stroking Moon's hair.
She's a rather fun chacter to watch.

   Ami is in the episode--barely.

Makoto made a very scary (and embarrasing) Nako-nako. The stage fright
was kind of cute, but then she was rather...well...silly looking. On
the other hand, once Rei got going, she was adorable! She should have
   won. :p

And finally, I completely cracked up when those two made the comment
about not telling Usagi about the competition. That was fantastic.

You know, I really don't remember much about the next episode. Prepare
yourselves for a shock. It's NOT one of my favorite episodes! Although
it was kinda cute, I guess.

Now, to settle in for a long day of sports. Two American football games
first, followed by Australian Open Tennis! I can hardly wait for the
   tennis! Yay!
