   Act 14 - Usagi is Turning into a Youma?   
      
   In the last act, Sailor Moon had been possessed by Kunzite. She   
   started to reach towards Mamoru in a menacing manner, but then   
   suddenly she snapped out of it and seemed to be back to normal.   
      
   In the Dark Kingdom, Kunzite confronts Beryl and puts himself   
   (literally) on her level. Jadeite and Nephrite were both pretty   
   deferential and respectful. Zoisite didn't seem to care at all and now   
   Kunzite is downright familiar and even disrespectful. Beryl will   
   certainly have her hands full with him.   
      
   Since the girls spent the actual New Year working at the shrine, they   
   now have their own private celebration in their secret base. The four   
   girls are stunning, each dressed in kimono of their respective senshi   
   colors along with color themed wish scrolls on the wall.   
      
   They have a karaoke party and even Rei (who says she hates karaoke) is   
   secretly marking time under the table as Usagi, Ami and Makoto sing.   
   This time around, you get the impression that Ami is truly in the   
   spirit rather then simply pretending as she did the first time in   
   Usagi's bedroom.   
      
   At the height of the party, Usagi collapses as Kunzite's spell starts   
   to affect her. Each of the girls react to Usagi's condition in their   
   own way; Makoto races out to find and confront Kunzite directly; Rei   
   goes to the shrine to invoke her spiritual powers to seal the youma   
   and Ami is left to care for Usagi alone. Ami attempts to move Usagi to   
   her (Ami's) home and runs into Mamoru who helps by carrying Usagi on   
   his back.   
      
   Ami sets up her computer to monitor Usagi's vital signs and arranges   
   heaters to keep her warm. Usagi's condition wavers back and forth,   
   becoming more youma like and then back to normal.   
      
   There is a bit of a confrontation between Ami and Naru when Naru comes   
   to Ami's house looking for Usagi. Ami won't let Naru inside, so Naru   
   is forced to leave, very confused about what is going on with Ami.   
      
   Kunzite sees that Usagi is resisting his efforts and decides to speed   
   things along. He uses his powers to snatch Usagi away from Ami despite   
   Ami's efforts to protect her. Ami races out of the house, transforming   
   into Sailor Mercury on the run (in the same manner that Minako did).   
   She leaps over buildings in her race to find Usagi.   
      
   Somehow she succeeds, entering a cave where Kunzite is standing over   
   the still comatose Usagi commanding her to become his follower.   
   Mercury battles Kunzite using a sword she made from water dripping   
   from the cave walls. Jupiter and Mars also show up, but their attacks,   
   like Mercury's, have no affect on Kunzite. They are all thrown to the   
   ground.   
      
   Kunzite stands over Usagi and commands her to transform. Usagi's body   
   starts to glow and the form of a youma appears over her. Mercury cries   
   Usagi's name as she thinks of the fun times they had together.   
   Suddenly, Usagi sits up completely recovered, Kunzite's spell broken.   
   She quickly transforms into Sailor Moon. Kunzite attacks her, but his   
   sword is blocked at the last moment by Tuxedo Kaman, who has also now   
   shown up in the cave. Sailor Moon attacks with Moon Twilight Flash   
   which Kunzite deflects and then he vanishes.   
      
   As they return home, Usagi said that she was able to recover because   
   she heard everyone calling to her but she especially heard Ami's   
   voice.   
      
   I always figured that the Dark Kingdom was on some other dimensional   
   plane, which could not be accessed by any normal means. How in the   
   world did Ami, TK and the other girls manage to find it?   
      
   This was a great growth episode for Ami. She has become more outgoing   
   and had really come through for Usagi, standing guard over her the   
   entire night. It is unfortunate about Naru however. I'm pretty sure   
   that comes back as an issue in later episodes.
