   Act 23 - In Order to Awaken Her Senshi Powers, Rei Sings   
      
   Mamoru sees Zoisite in his apartment who attempts to reminds him of   
   his past life as Master Endymion. Hina starts to enter the apartment,   
   but Mamoru quickly ushers her back out suggesting that they go for   
   coffee.   
      
   While the girls have learned to henshin into Sailor Senshi, they have   
   not yet come into their full power in the way that Venus has. In the   
   last episode, Usagi took a step towards that goal when she refused to   
   fight Ami. This time it is Rei's turn.   
      
   Minako has come up with a clever plan that forces Rei to confront her   
   greatest fear... karaoke. By spreading a few rumors about Rei being   
   the idol singer, Reiko Mars, she has left Rei with little choice but   
   to hold a small concert at the children's hospital. Rei, realizing   
   that this is necessary to help her find her true power, is determined   
   to carry through. However, when she attempts to use the karaoke   
   machine at the secret base, she finds herself helpless in   
   understanding how to use it. She is literally thrown to the ground   
   time and again as she attempts to set it up. Finally she calls Usagi   
   to help her out.   
      
   Using a stored photo from her cell phone, Rei dresses for the hospital   
   concert. Usagi thanks Rei for trusting her enough to ask her help.   
   This is an important aspect of Rei's lesson here, to learn to depend   
   on others and to not be so determined to do everything alone.   
      
   After a faltering start, Rei starts to get into the music and ends up   
   doing a really outstanding job of singing. In the meanwhile, a youma   
   appears at the hospital and Rei is momentarily distracted. However,   
   Usagi silently instructs Rei to continue to sing and that she will   
   take care of the youma.   
      
   Since Minako is already at the hospital getting an exam (the doctors   
   confirm that she has only six months to live), she joins Usagi and the   
   two of them attack the youma. They defeat it, but learn too late that   
   this was a trap sprung by Nephrite. They are both stuck in place by a   
   green goo on the floor. Nephrite is about to strike at the trapped   
   senshi when he, himself, is suddenly struck by a fire blast.   
      
   Rei has appeared. She powers up with swirls of flame and blasts   
   Nephrite with a super Youma Taisan. This severely injures Nephrite,   
   who disappears back to the Dark Kingdom caves.   
      
   Mars realizes that this added strength came from trusting her   
   companions. Venus points out that she has started to awaken, but she   
   still has further to go. I guess that Makoto is next.   
      
   Back in the caves, Mercury looks down on an injured Nephrite and   
   taunts him. As she walks off, Nephrite attacks her from behind.   
      
   BTW, all I ever see those DK folks do between fights is wander around   
   these dank, dark caves. Don't they at least have a little cafeteria or   
   something where they can get some chow and watch TV?
