   Act 27 - Luna Became a Sailor Senshi!   
      
   In the last act, we left Mercury facing an unknown senshi. As it   
   turned out, the senshi was just confirming that the dark power within   
   Mercury had weakened after she was bathed in the light of the Silver   
   Crystal. After stating as much, she vanishes in a flash of light.   
      
   I'm pretty sure that I remember already knowing the identity of this   
   new senshi before watching this episode, but even so, her identity is   
   immediately revealed to be Luna before the opening credits even start   
   as she transforms back into a plushie cat on the run.   
      
   Don't those DK folks have any chairs at all? I figure Nephrite has   
   been sitting on a cave floor, sulking about his failures for about a   
   month now.   
      
   Mercury goes through periods of regression as she wavers back and   
   forth between her two personalities, good and evil. Kunzite appears at   
   opportune times to keep her focused on being evil.   
      
   It appears that Luna has both a human and a senshi form. She (quite   
   literally) plays cat and mouse with the individual girls and then the   
   whole group back in the secret base. Each time she is about to reveal   
   her identity, something distracts her (dog, bouncing balls, sneezing   
   from pepper, etc.) However, she does manage to tell the girls that Ami   
   is getting better and the hold on her is weakening.   
      
   In the base, Usagi receives a call from Ami and sends Rei and Makoto   
   on a wild goose chase so that she can meet Ami alone. (Rei fell for   
   such a cheap trick?).   
      
   Usagi meets Ami in a large empty building. They both henshin and start   
   to fight. Mostly, it is Mercury using her ice sword and Usagi blocking   
   it with her Moonlight Stick. The fight moves into some sort of theater   
   room. SM is knocked to the ground and Mercury is about to strike her   
   when they are distracted by a girl's voice. It is human Luna who says   
   that she overheard Usagi's phone conversation with her 'special' ears.   
   She uses a transformation phone of her own to henshin into Sailor Luna   
   and her identity is now formally revealed.   
      
   Sailor Luna joins the fray, but is quickly sidetracked by Kunzite who   
   wants Mercury to be able to battle SM uninterrupted. However, Kunzite   
   is baffled in his attack as Luna vanishes and appears all over the   
   room, taunting him. She finally whacks him in the head with a giant   
   harisen fan. He retaliates with an attack that knocks her away and   
   transforms her back into a cat (with the "Ouch!" eyes ^_^)   
      
   Mercury and SM carry on their battle which continues to be Mercury   
   striking at SM and SM blocking amd dodging. The dark power within   
   Mercury continues to wane and the true Ami starts to appear. Usagi is   
   tormented as she sees the pain that this conversion is causing Ami.   
   Kunzite appears and blasts Mercury with more dark power. Dark Mercury   
   rallies and strikes at SM once again shattering her Moonlight Stick.   
   With that blow, SM falls lifeless to the ground. The sight of her dear   
   friend perhaps dead finally breaks the hold of the dark power over   
   Mercury and she wails as she pulls Usagi's head into her lap.
