   Act 42 - I Won't Use the Power of the Legendary Silver Crystal!   
      
   It now appears that Mamoru is actually plotting against Beryl and that   
   is the purpose of his apparent betrayal of Sailor Moon. However, Beryl   
   has hatched a plan of her own.   
      
   Much of this episode is dedicated to Usagi undergoing various   
   endurance training exercises to help her suppress the power of the   
   crystal. They involve tolerating hot water and heat, studying   
   difficult and complex textbooks and eating spicy and distasteful (to   
   her) food. One small consequence of this is that Shingo sees plushie   
   Luna speaking her concern about Usagi's plight. They are both shocked   
   at the discovery. Luna transforms into her human form and peeks out   
   around the door to see Shingo still staring. She jumps up and claims   
   to be a friend of Usagi and then runs past him up the stairs with her   
   cat tail still showing. She does Sailor Moon's "I'll punish you"   
   stance and then scampers off. Shingo decides it would be better to   
   pretend that he saw nothing. Heh, poor Shingo. ^_^   
      
   As to the alliances of the various generals, Zoisite is still firmly   
   on the side of Endymion and Kunzite appears to be wavering. Although   
   Kunzite is bound to help Endymion because of his earlier promise, it   
   looks like he doesn't resent that so much. And after much pain and   
   distress, Jadeite has decided to remain a minion of Beryl.   
      
   At Beryl's bidding, Jadeite implants a dark stone in Mamoru's chest.   
   When I first saw that happen, I was thinking that it would be another   
   mind control thing and Mamoru would become a DK minion, but it was   
   actually more insidious then that.   
      
   As Usagi, Ami and Luna T. confront this new, stronger youma from the   
   last act, they transform and give battle. The youma powers up to an   
   even stronger form and blasts Sailor Luna and Mercury. Sailor Moon   
   (accompanied by the background helicopter sound) works to suppress the   
   power of the silver crystal. The youma attacks SM, but she is defended   
   by Endymion at the last moment. He congratulates her on her improved   
   ability to control her dark power.   
      
   Mio shows up and warns Endymion of the consequences of approaching   
   Usagi. Beryl triggers the stone embedded within his chest and he   
   doubles over in pain. Mio tells Usagi that anytime Mamoru thinks of   
   her, the stone will drain more and more of his life away. She says   
   that if Mamoru dies, it will be Usagi's fault and then teleports them   
   both away. The youma attacks again and, having been distracted from   
   controlling the crystal power, SM transforms into PSM. As her friends   
   are hurt by the attack of the youma, PSM transforms her sword into a   
   harp and heals their wounds and even revives the surrounding flowers.   
      
   Usagi and PSM have another internal discussion where PSM says that   
   Endymion is the only one important to her. To her, there is no need   
   for the planet to survive if Endymion is dead. Usagi disagrees, but   
   PSM says that Usagi will eventually reach the same conclusion. At the   
   end of the discussion, Sailor Moon has returned to her normal senshi   
   form. The three senshi attempt a three way attack that includes a new   
   attack by Mercury, Mercury Aqua Storm. However it has no effect and   
   the youma escapes. The senshi decide that this dark power of Sailor   
   Moon's might one day be necessary, but in the meanwhile, Usagi is   
   determined to keep it suppressed until then.   
      
   The act ends with Mamoru clutching his chest in pain. On the wall is a   
   painting where a spot of light appears, apparently indicating the   
   progress of his diminishing life.
