   Act 44 - Zoisite Turned Back into a Stone   
      
   Rei continues her accusation of Minako in that she has not awaken her   
   senshi powers and so should not be the leader of the senshi. Minako   
   denies the charge, and attempts to get Artemis to back her up. But he   
   can not, thus validating Rei's statement. NTL, Minako says that it is   
   her right by way of their past life to lead the senshi. Rei says that   
   she doesn't care for their past life. Rei continues that Minako should   
   not return until she has awoken her powers. Until then, Rei is sure   
   that Minako has something better to do (get the operation, obviously).   
      
   Mamoru is suffering from the life-draining stone as Zoisite helps him   
   into bed. Beryl is bewildered as to why Mamoru doesn't love her yet.   
   She's got a point, she's threatened to kill his friends and   
   subordinates, attempted to kill his girlfriend many times, is holding   
   him prisoner, is slowly killing him each time he thinks of his   
   girlfriend and is prone to going into fits of jealous rage. How could   
   any guy resist such loving overtures.   
      
   Jaedite is spending his days kneeing at Beryl's side since he   
   apparently has nothing better to do. Zoisite offers Beryl his life for   
   Mamoru, but she proposes a counteroffer of Usagi's life for Mamoru's   
   instead.   
      
   Nephrite appears to be recovering his DK power, trashing the Crown in   
   the process. Ami shows up and offers some burned cookies to Motoki and   
   Nephrite (Huh? I thought Ami was a -good- cook). Motoki reluctantly   
   eats one telling Ami that it's tasty. However, Nephrite says they are   
   terrible, but stuffs his face with them regardless making Ami laugh.   
      
   For the first time ever, Minako enters the secret base in order to   
   confront Rei. Minako tells Rei that if she is not going to meet the   
   obligations of her past life, then Rei is no longer needed as a   
   senshi. Rei storms off, asking the others to watch out for Usagi.   
      
   Usagi visits Naru in the hospital. Naru had been recovering from the   
   time the powerful youma had first attacked, however a recent youma   
   attack on the hospital has put her into a coma.   
      
   Kunzite tells Zoisite that he is leaving the DK. Zoisite decides that   
   he is the only one left to defend Mamoru and uses his music to create   
   a youma to target Usagi.   
      
   Kunzite prepares his sword at an outdoor (and very green) alter in a   
   plan to escape Beryl's curse.   
      
   Mamoru speaks with Zoisite attempting to explain why he would give his   
   life for Usagi and the generals. Mamoru tells him that Zoisite is the   
   same as him and to not abandon that which is important to him. Zoisite   
   thoughtfully reflects on Mamoru's words.   
      
   Usagi has bought flowers for Naru when she is attacked by Zoisite's   
   youma. Zoisite tells her that he must reluctantly take her life. Usagi   
   transforms and gives battle, but then Metalia's powerful youma shows   
   up as well. She is about to lose when Venus, Jupiter and Mercury (but   
   no Mars) show up. Venus does a great cartwheel attack, knocking down   
   Zoisite's youma, leaving SM free to pursue Metalia's youma. The three   
   remaining senshi despatch the youma, but then Venus falls to the   
   ground in a semiconscious faint before they can go to SM's aid.   
      
   SM is not very perceptive as for the second time she is unaware of an   
   attack from behind. Just as Metalia's youma is about to strike her   
   down, Zoisite suddenly appears to block the attack, chasing off the   
   youma. However, in the process, Zoisite is fatally wounded. As he dies   
   (after SM has apparently dragged him about half a mile to rest by a   
   tree), he tells SM that he treasures his time with Endymion and the   
   rest of the generals. He stretches out his hand and starts to play a   
   metaphysical piano. Jaedite hear his music and think back to their   
   happy times together. Kunzite takes his sword from the alter and   
   commits seppuku, running the sword (sort of ^_^;) through his body.   
      
   Zoisite changes back into a stone, but this time it breaks in two and   
   crumbles to dust. I don't think Zoisite is coming back this time.
