   Act 48 - Mamoru is Captured by Metalia!   
      
   As Usagi slowly walks down the street, mourning Minako's death, Mamoru   
   appears before her. He was apparently successful in containing   
   Metalia. When Usagi sees him, she attempts to force a smile in   
   compliance with his wish for her. Mamoru immediately calls her baka   
   and tells her that she can cry all she wants now that he is with her.   
   In relief, Usagi sobs into his chest.   
      
   For this act, we get a special OP as Mamoru explains that he has   
   suppressed Metalia and they can resume their relationship. The lyrics   
   were changed a bit and Sailor Luna replaces Venus in part of the   
   opening sequence.   
      
   After getting Usagi's commitment to use the crystal to defeat anyone   
   else who tries to destroy the planet, Mamoru transforms into Endymion   
   and confronts Kunzite in the forest, who has now fully healed. I'm not   
   sure I understand the purpose of Kunzite's attempted suicide since it   
   didn't work and it didn't change his circumstances.   
      
   Mio, who seems to be following her own capricious volition now,   
   kidnaps Usagi and takes her to witness Endymion's confrontation. Luna   
   warns the other senshi and they gather and teleport to the Dark   
   Kingdom to confront Beryl with Mars leading the charge. Beryl, for her   
   part, has ordered Jadeite to kill Endymion at any cost.   
      
   Kunzite disarms Endymion and is about to strike him down when he   
   realizes that this was Endymion's plan all along if he was unable to   
   contain Metalia. Kunzite appears ready to carry out Endymion's wishes   
   when he suddenly pulls Endymion out of the way and throws himself in   
   the way of Jadeite's blade who was following Beryl's commands to the   
   end. Before he dies, Kunzite tells Jadeite that Beryl is not his   
   master, but that their master stood before them, Endymion. For a   
   moment, we see Kunzite as he was before, in the form of Shin, then he   
   becomes a stone as did Zoisite. Jadeite runs away, unable to face the   
   situation.   
      
   As the senshi confront Beryl, she tells them that it is no longer any   
   use. Metalia has absorbed Endymion and the planet will now be   
   destroyed.   
      
   Endymion realizes the same thing as the Metalia's power surges around   
   him. He attempts to kill himself and Metalia with him, but it is too   
   late. Usagi screams as he attempts to stab the sword into his own   
   body, but then their surroundings crumble into a red mist that leaves   
   them in an open field with a Metalia possessed Endymion approaching   
   them. (What is with those awful shoes?)   
      
   Mio, who was teleported with them, attempts to run away, however the   
   black Endymion strikes at her with his sword and she is vaporized. He   
   strikes at Usagi as well, but she transforms into Sailor Moon and   
   avoids the blast.   
      
   The rest of the senshi show up but they are no match for this   
   Metalia-Endymion entity. All of their attacks are repelled and   
   reflected back onto them until they are all forced to de-henshin.   
      
   Sailor Moon stumbles onto Endymion's abandoned sword and suddenly   
   realizes that what Mamoru had actually asked her earlier was to kill   
   -him- if he became possessed.   
      
   As she steels herself to do this, Mamoru's spirit appears next to her   
   to encourage her to do what is necessary.   
      
   Sobbing his name, Sailor Moon picks up the sword and runs (and runs)   
   it through the body of the man she loves.   
      
   Tomorrow it ends...
