|    51 Days of PGSM - Omake    |
|    07 Apr 07 08:48:52    |
From: phoenix@mediaone.net              I know this posting is weeks late, but it took awhile for me to catch       up on various things after 9 months of almost non-stop Sailor Moon.              For this posting, I'm going to list all the various omake here and if       anyone wishes to comment on a particular one, well help yourself.       Also, if I missed something, by all means, please feel free to add       your own.              Making of PGSM       I'm fairly sure this 24 minute special was broadcast before the first       episode of PGSM to give a little background on the story and a sneak       preview of Sailor Moon's transformation. Among other things, we learn       that the first scene filmed was Luna falling on Usagi's face and it       took 7 takes to get it right. We also learn that there are 43 rabbits       in Usagi's bedroom, 44 if you count Usagi herself.              Birth of Tuxedo Kamen       A four and a half minute mini-drama of the origin of TK. Because Usagi       calls Mamoru by name, that pretty much places this scene after the end       of the series, but before they got married. In a bit of a self parody       of Sailor Moon's henshin, the story makes it pretty clear that TK is       just Mamoru in a tuxedo and not a special transformation.              Hina afterwards       A four minute mini-drama that shows what became of Hina, Mamoru's       former fiance. Rather then spoil it, just let me say that she appears       to have found her own happy ending.              Super Dance Lesson       Makoto and Usagi teach you the dance steps to 'Romance' one of       Minako's concert numbers that appeared in Act 30 and 35.              DVD Oshiokiyo       I suppose the name for these DVD omake specials is a play on Sailor       Moon's catch-phrase "tsukini kawatte... oshiokiyo!". Ryuusei fansubs       translates the title as "PGSM is punished" which seems an odd name,       but oh well. There are 13 of these specials, one for each of the DVD       volumes in the series and one for the Act Zero Venus special. The       first 8 specials are co-hosted by Sawai Miyuu and one of the other       four senshi, each in turn, two specials apiece. They are in a movie       theatre setting where they appear to be watching the PSGM episodes and       making comments on them. The rest of the specials are a 5-part series       where the five girls are interviewed together by the director,       Suzumura Nobuhiro. This interview was taped following the filming of       the We're Getting Married! Special Act. These specials also include       unused scenes from the series which sometimes give a little added       insight to what was happening in the show. The last oshiokiyo was       pretty much the last thing I watched and it was nice as the girls gave       a final (but let's not call it final) goodbye.              Pin Spot! Interviews       Several of the girls were featured in short (5 minute) interviews       about themselves and their role in PGSM.              Kirari Super Live - Backstage Omake       Pretty much what the title says. Lots of before and during backstage       scenes of the PGSM cast rehearsing their parts, making comments to the       camera and so forth. Is that Nephrite in the background hand dancing       to 'Romance'?              Kirari Super Live - Men Omake       I think this is the only detailed interview of the men of PGSM.       However, since this was filmed backstage at the Kirari Live       appearance, we miss out on hearing from Masaya Kikawada (Motoki).       About half way through the interview, the senshi show up in costume       with some snacks for the guys.              Act Zero - Location tour       Sawai Miyuu (Usagi) and Jyoji Shibue (Mamoru) give a tour of the       various locations that were used in the filming of the series. The       bridge on the way to school, the building where Ami got her henshin,       the beach wall where Usagi and Mamoru sat and so forth. We also find       out that director Satou Takemitsu was the one responsible for the       helicopter sounds. If you look back, you can see that they showed up       in most (all?) of the episodes that he directed (and with one       appearent exception, only in his episodes).              Act Zero - Cast goodbyes       This was very touching. As the very last scene for each cast member       wrapped, they each got a minute or so to say a few parting words,       several of whom ended up crying (including one of the guys ^_-).              ...              Well, that's it.              This project started back in June 2006, 10 months ago. I had to put       much of my other anime watching on hold to keep up but it was worth       every second. Even now I think back on that time with nostalgia and I       am sure that one day, perhaps a few years from now, I will want to do       this all over again.              Thank you so much to everyone who stayed with this even if you       couldn't post much or even at all. Just to know that if even only a       few fans were silently reading along, it gave me great satisfaction.              But I'm not saying goodbye. I see that some of the old threads are       still active, so I'll be hanging around to comment myself.              Take care, everyone!              --       Phoenix       www.phoenixanime.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
