   The series appeared to mirror real time, observing holidays around the   
   same time as was happening in the real world. Given that Ami was evil   
   for six episodes, that should mean that six weeks had passed.   
      
   As for her mother, I hadn't given it much thought before, but I figure   
   that since Ami was making an appearance at school, she likely also   
   made an appearance at home, maybe even sleeping there at night.   
   Otherwise it seems like she would have nothing but a cold cave floor   
   to call her bed. ;)
