   Only bits and pieces of this act are used in the anime episode of   
   Makoto's introduction. In the anime, the seven rainbow crystals arc   
   has started and Makoto is introduced as part of that storyline with   
   Crane Game Joe. In the manga act, the story involves a "haunted"   
   bridal shop. Nephrite's demon masquerades as a bride that entrances   
   men who then entrance other girls. Seems like a complicated process to   
   me. Motoki (now scripted as Andrew/Andy in the Mixxzine version) is   
   the hapless victim who then turns on Makoto.   
      
   Makoto is caught up in the deception, but is freed when Usagi   
   disguises herself as a groom and detracts the demon bride. This is   
   after Tuxie practically kidnaps Usagi from her room to take her to   
   save Makoto.   
      
   Where Nephrite had died in Naru's arms in the previous episode, in the   
   manga he is fried by a furious Sailor Jupiter.   
      
   Despite the differences, there are some similarities too. Rei makes it   
   pretty clear that she is not into guys. Makoto is tall and rough, but   
   wishes to be feminine and is a great cook. The bento scene where Usagi   
   introduces herself to Makoto is pretty much the same. And Rei's   
   grandpa is indeed a lecher. However it appears that there is no spark   
   between Ami and Makoto in the manga.   
      
   Makoto is introduced in June in the manga and in September in the   
   anime.
