   Phoenix to All
   52 Days of BSSM - Act 7 - Chiba Mamoru/D

Wow, the Mamoru from the manga is much more emotionally involved then
Mamoru from the anime. But what's with all the half dreamy encounters?

Act 4 - Kissed Usagi in an intoxicated daze
Act 5 - Kidnapped Usagi from bedroom in a dreamy daze
Act 6 - Possible kiss with Usagi in an exhausted daze

In this act, Mamoru goes straight for the endearing nickname "Usako"
(translated as "Buns" by Mixxzine). Usagi decides on Mamo-chan as her
nickname for him (Mixxzine drops the ball on this one, as Bunny only
wonders what Darien's nickname is like it would be pre-assigned). We
get Mamoru's backstory where he lost his memory in a car accident as a
child. He needs the crystal to regain his memory (but wouldn't that
just be of his childhood prior to the accident then?) He says he
doesn't know his age, but that his accident happened on his sixth
birthday. I would think that he should know the exact date of the
accident (or at least the authorities would), so his age should not be
   that big a mystery.

Queen Metalia is introduced and we get some of Beryl's backstory. Per
Mixxzine, somehow Beryl stumbles on some haunted ruins at the North
Pole (is she an archaeologist?). The fan translation is a little more
clear on this point, indicating that Beryl was drawn to these ruins,
labeled as D point in the Arctic Circle.

Naru's friends get to keep their Japanese names in the English
   version.

Usagi's got her first Sailor Moon stalker, Umino.

The plot for this arc is that people are being brainwashed by a video
tape to find Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon does another Moon Healing
Escalation to cure the victims. Hmmm.... so they updated the 3.5"
diskette to a CD, but left us with the outdated (even in 2003) VHS
   video tape cassette.

Sailor Venus makes her surprise appearance at the end and takes out
   Zoisite.

   Side note...

The Mixxzine saga gets a little muddy here. This act will be the last
to appear in the Mixxzine magazine. From here, the story forks, with
the Dark Kingdom arc continuing in monthly singles and the SuperS arc
premiering in Mixxzine's new magazine, Smile.

In the process, Mixxzine got a major black eye because they waited
until after the subscription renewals to drop Sailor Moon from
Mixxzine. When the Sailor Moon fanbase backlash came, they said they
regretted the move and allowed subscribers to switch to Smile.

There was also an internal crisis in the company as well. If you're
interested, this site seems to have a fairly good write-up on the
   whole Mixxzine history.
