   OK, I'm finally back to continue my review of the manga.   
      
   Continuing from Act 9, we get even more revelations in this segment.   
   Luna is taking the senshi to the Moon to learn of their past first   
   hand. However they have to wait several days until the full moon   
   before they can use their sailor teleport to make the trip.   
      
   They touch down on the Sea of Serenity. Jupiter teases SM about being   
   the rabbit on the moon making that connection to the old Japanese   
   tale. They find a sword in a pedestal (just like the one in the live   
   action special). It is surrounded by a devastated city. Venus is able   
   to remove the sword and it kicks off a sort of computer generated AI   
   based on Sailor Moon's mother, Queen Serenity. She tells the senshi of   
   their past, how Usagi longed for the real trees and wind of Earth. She   
   would often descend to Earth and it was there that she met and fell in   
   love with Endymion.   
      
   The role of the moon people was to use the Silver Crystal to protect   
   the Earth and its people. Metalia was born of some kind of malignant   
   solar flare on the Sun. She came to Earth and caused the Earth people   
   to turn against the Moon people. Only Endymion tried to stop it and in   
   the process, he was struck down defending Usagi in her role as   
   princess. The Queen sealed Metalia away, but did a poor job of it due   
   to the shock of losing Usagi. She charged SM with the duty of   
   completing the destruction of Metalia using the Silver Crystal.   
   However, the Crystal is not working because part of it was sucked into   
   Mamoru's body. After commanding the other senshi to protect Sailor   
   Moon, the power driving the computer runs out and the computer and the   
   Queen's avatar shut down.   
      
   The senshi return to Earth as Kunzite is preparing an attack on Tokyo   
   where he will cover it with ice. In the resulting battle, the senshi   
   respond with a Sailor Planet Attack and the last general is destroyed.   
   Having no minions left, Beryl uses the power of Metalia to awaken   
   Mamoru and turns him into her puppet. She sends him to Earth to kill   
   Usagi and retrieve the crystal.   
      
   I see that in the manga, Usagi's dad approves of Mamoru, unlike his   
   reaction in the anime.   
      
   Mamoru's pocket watch, which displays the moon phases (I suppose that   
   could be useful once they get married ), keeps showing up.   
   Mamoru accidentally dropped it in Usagi's lap back in Act 6 and she   
   still has it. However, it is broken and does not work. This device has   
   taken different forms in the anime and the live action versions.
