   BTW, one of the things that interested me in this review is the timing   
   of the manga vs the anime. One of the things I had heard for years is   
   that the Ail and Ann arc of the second season was created by the Toei   
   studio to give Naoko Takeuchi a chance to get ahead of the episode   
   releases. It appears that was truly necessary as even with all the   
   filler, the TV episodes are starting to overlap the manga acts. As of   
   this act, the anime is only one month behind.   
      
   Here I've matched anime episodes with the manga acts that inspired   
   them as much as I could.

   Fans had mostly complained about all the filler episodes in the anime,   
   but since the acts were published monthly and the episodes weekly, the   
   studio had to come up with at least four anime episodes for every   
   manga act. Unless they continually developed new arcs like the alien   
   one, filler episodes were going to be inevitable.
