   First off, I love the return of Sailor Moon, (all hail Neo-Queen   
   Serenity...long live the Queen) but it does not mean it escapes a good   
   roasting.  It is only fair to compare with Act 1 of the manga, 1st episode of   
   BSSM Classic (BSSM), or PGSM Live Action    
   (LA).   
      
   Music/imagery: I want to like the OP Moon Pride, but some lines seemed   
   anti-Tuxedo Kamen, at least on the translated subtitles.  Not quite sure I   
   liked the CGI senshi out in the meadow.  The background music was heavenly for   
   SM henshi/attacks, and    
   foreboding for the Dark Kingdom.  The ED Moon Rainbow/Gekko sounded nice, and   
   the last second animated kiss reminds me of the original Heart Moving   
   animation of the first season.  Kudos!   
      
   Opening dream scene:    
   Near perfect setting for the relaunch.  No voiceover giving away future plot   
   developments, no use of the term "Negaverse", etc. It sets up the tragic lost   
   romance backstory so beautifully.   
      
   - 1st nit: The solar system probably should not have had Saturn in the   
   foreground, unless Sailor Saturn shows up this season.  And if the sun was in   
   the upper center, the planets should have had their dark sides facing the   
   observer, not the lighted side.   
      
   - 2nd nit: Was that the Moon Kingdom, or Endymion's kingdom?  The last shot   
   was Earth.   
      
   Klutzmania:   
   Ye-ouch!  Usagi falling down the stairs was _painfully_ funny!  Usagi falling   
   down on her face, getting attacked by Luna--her guardian no less, smashing her   
   ankle on the locked door, and SM tripping after being chased around the   
   jewelry store.  I hope    
   she has health insurance!   
      
   Transformation:   
   I don't think the CGI and cell(?) animation teams coordinated right.  The bow   
   loops look too large in the CGI, and when Usagi/SM comes out of the henshin,   
   she isn't in the same pose.  They got it right in BSSM, IIRC. She looks a   
   little wooden in CGI, but    
   her first BSSM henshin did not have her dancing around either.  I think they   
   applied her CGI skin flesh tones too early, and perhaps should have waited   
   till after her boots and skirt materialize.   
      
   Battle:   
   Funny!  This is why SM is a classic.  Ever superhero goes in punches flying,   
   but SM is a newbie--of course she runs.  I wasn't sure they'd pull that sonic   
   hair gems thingy again, but darn, it was scary-funny! (The glass would have   
   harmed anyone under the    
   falling shards--they should have had the window glass fall outside the store,   
   and the display glass would be fine if broke off the displays.)   
      
   TK:   
   Best return engagement ever!  I think TK wins the bishy award for 2014.     
      
   - 1st nit?: In keeping with the manga, TK is not throwing a rose to distract   
   the motd (Darn your 'creative liberties' on BSSM), and no Spanish guitar riff   
   (Darn you, DIC dub!)....I miss them--sob, sob.   
      
   - 2nd nit?: The subtitle used "Tuxedo Mask", but I don't think I mind at all.   
      
   I want Sailor Says version 3.0! Yes, ok, I'm demented...
