   After the death of Darth Maul Mace Windu wondered if he was the apprentice   
   or the master. Earlier he told Qui-Gon that he would discover the identity   
   of the mysterious Sith Lord. He never even tried. Curiously he never drew   
   any kind of connection between Darth Tyranus and Darth Maul. A natural   
   assumption may have been that Dooku was the master. Of course Dooku's   
   revelation of the existence of Darth Sidious may have renedered all my   
   thoughts moot. Carry on.
