Yoda purposely chose Dagobah because it had a strong Force presence (due
to a battle between a Jedi and a Sith in it's history) that helped to hide
him. It is also the reason for the cave's strong force presence, which
Luke felt and went to investigate.

While he was on Dagobah, Yoda talked with Qui-Gon Jinn and finding a way
of redeeming himself (for his failure to defeat the Emperor).
