1be98974       XPost: rec.sport.pro-wrestling       From: titanic@naplesnet.com              "Richard Fangnail" wrote in message       news:a4d740c1-b1cb-47ae-ad02-b4492d327362@i18g2000pro.googlegroups.com...              In the scene when the two robots walk across the hall and don't get       shot, right before the explosion on the right side, a few frames are       missing. Have you noticed that? It's not mentioned in the imdb       mistakes list - maybe it's not a mistake.                     You know what ALWAYS drives me CRAZY? As the rebels & Imps are blasting at       each other aboard the TANTIVE, R2D2 & C3PO cross that hall la-de-dah, and       with blaster fire going off ALL AROUND THEM, not ONE manages to hit them.              Meanwhile rebels are going down & getting hit...but R2 & 3PO make it through       without a scratch.                            And don't even get me STARTED on "a young JEDI NAMED Darth Vader". I mean,       Luke may know little about the Jedi or Sith, but don't you think he could       have potentially said, "Darth? Isn't that a SITH name? How could a guy       named "Darth" be a JEDI? Why were you training a Sith?". Obi-Wan could       have just said, "a young Jedi I was training turned to the dark side". If       Luke knows ANYTHING at all about the Jedi (which evidently he DOES: "you       were a Jedi knight?" "you fought in the Clone Wars?"), it suggests that he       knows by extension that their enemies are the Sith. And, taken a step       further, only SITH are known as "Darth". Obi-Wan must see that he has SOME       concept of the Jedi, yet he goes ahead & tells Luke that he was essentially,       what Luke could interpret it as, training a Sith in the Jedi arts.                     And ANOTHER thing..."a certain point of view"??? IF >>>I<<< were Luke, at       this point, I would have told the old man, "What kind of crap       rationalization is THAT??? You mean you've been bullsh*tting me about my       father this whole time? Why, so you could manipulate me into finishing the       job you COULDN'T? Dad was RIGHT about the Jedi. To HELL with you. I'm       joining Pop on the Dark side".                            And one MORE thing: Han watching the FALCON depart & saying, "I just have       the feeling I'm never going to see her again". This suggests that a. Han       is going to die; b. the FALCON is going to be destroyed. NEITHER of which       occurs. Meaning this line makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. YES, I know, it was       discussed that Han would die-but Lucas was dead set against it, so it makes       no sense that the line refers to his death. Yes, I KNOW that they filmed a       sequence with the FALCON being destroyed trying to escape the Death Star's       explosion, but since it was never used, the line makes no sense. Lucas       should have edited it out, because it leads absolutely NOWHERE.                     And what about Anakin's massacre of the Tusken's? As I recall, NOBODY feels       their death in the Force. Obi-Wan can feel the death screams of the       population of Alderaan from millions of miles away, yet neither he, Master       Yoda, Windu, or any OTHER Jedi feel the death of the Tuskens, nor Anakin's       'dark side' act of slaughtering them (which I should think would be a       CONSIDERABLE tremor in the Force, given Anakin's connection to it)? Qui-Gon       can feel it from the netherworld of the force well enough to scream,       "Anakin!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!", yet Master Yoda, most powerful member of the       Order, can only feel, "Anakin is in great pain"? What's his excuse?       "Clouded my vision, the Dark Side has"?                     And then, in ROTS, the best advise he can give an Anakin that's worried sick       about premonitions of the death of someone "close to him"? Some Zen garbage       about "They're going to be one with the Force, so forget about them"?       O.K., I REALIZE Master Yoda was undoubtedly raised in the old Jedi way,       taken soon after birth so he didn't have the experience of a family, but       what kind of nonsense is THAT??? Honestly, I LOVE the Master Yoda of EMPIRE       and JEDI, but the Yoda of the PREQUELS to me just sucked, and ruined his       character (and he was my FAVORITE, along with the Emperor in JEDI ["...And       NOW, Young Skywalker......you will die." Greatest SW line EVER]).              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
