   Depends on how old you were.  By the time ROTJ came out I was in high school   
   and I hated Ewoks.  Cousins younger than me loved them.  Same with Jar Jar   
   years later.  I still think it's sad to see 30-40 year old guys complain   
   about Jar Jar spoiling a movie made for kids and adults.   
      
      
      
      
   By the time ROTJ came out  ***I*** was in my senior year in college.  I   
   thought the Ewoks were a bit silly, and boring, but I didn't HATE them.  I   
   just thought the Endor & Jabba's palace parts were INTERMINABLY BORING &   
   dragged on FOREVER (what I DID hate was the speeder bike chase.  Come on,   
   the Imps ride on MOTORCYCLES???).  Hell, all ***I*** wanted to see was Luke,   
   Vader & (ESPECIALLY) the EMPEROR. McDiarmid as Palpy in ROTJ was the BEST   
   thing in the whole film.  Hell, I hung on every word he said.  I still   
   consider "Now, young Skywalker...you will die" the greatest line in Star   
   Wars.  Greater then "I am your father".  Even now, when I watch the DVD, I   
   ship everything in Jabba's palace & Endor, & head RIGHT for the Palpy   
   scenes.  I'd watch a whole movie if it was just Palpy talking trash &   
   kicking @ss.   
      
      
      
   Master Yoda & The Emperor-the GREATEST characters in the whole Star Wars   
   franchise.   
      
      
   Anyway...Ewoks-I can take 'em or leave 'em.  They don't bother me, I just   
   find them, & that part of the film, boring.   
      
      
      
   Oh, yeah-and I HATED Jar-Jar with a passion.  He's only been tolerable in   
   the Clone Wars cartoon & Robot Chicken (honestly, I mark for Force Ghost   
   Jar-Jar annoying Vader every time.  Also watching him getting blown out the   
   air lock).  And he DID spoil the film.  I wouldn't have considered it   
   'Original Trilogy' great, but it would have at least been somewhat   
   entertaining, without Jar-Jar.  He (and that 2-headed pod race announcer,   
   who may have actually been WORSE then Jar-Jar) ruined the whole film for me,   
   enough so that 'Episode 2' was the ONLY 'Star Wars' film I DIDN'T see in   
   its' original theatrical run (I waited for the DVD.  And you know what?  I   
   hated 'Episode 2' even MORE then 'Episode 1'.  I consider it to be the worst   
   of the 6 films: mexican jumping bean Yoda.  Arrogant, cocky, thoroughly   
   unlikeable Anakin  Stupid mystery plot.  "Sports Bars" on Coruscant.  A   
   '50'S DINER--Oh, God, a '50'S DINER.  The only things I like are the   
   soundless mines in the Jango chase, the Geonosis battle outside the arena   
   with the clones, and the ending with the deployment of the clones with the   
   Imperial March in the background).   
      
      
   (Oh, yeah-and it had a lot less Jar-Jar [that being one of it's GOOD
