   The bounty was put on Han's head AFTER "Episode IV: A New Hope". In the   
   re-inserted scene in the movie, Han Solo and Jabba meet at the hangar bay   
   and talk, before Jabba lets him.   
      
   The real question is why Han didn't pay off Jabba with his reward for   
   saving Princess Leia ... possibly he gave it back to the Rebels, or he was   
   simply too busy helping them.
