More movies, whether prequels or sequels, were never going to have the
same impact as the original movie or original trilogy. Times have changed,
the world has changed, people have changed. If the Original movie(s) had
been released today instead of the 1970s/80s, then they wouldn't have made
such a massive impact, even with using modern day filmmaking techiques.

Whether or not the Prequel Trilogy is "any good" is simply a matter of
   individual opinion.

As for "three other films" ... they're will not be any. The Saga is over,
there are no more Episodes to be filmed and there is no now-mythical
"Third Trilogy" (or "Fourth Trilogy"). There MIGHT be more spin-off movies
(live-action like the Ewok movies or animated like The Clone Wars movie),
but they are not part of the Saga.

As for losing it's relevancy, "Star Wars" has inspired many people over
the decades (some worth inspiring, others useless hacks) and will continue
to do so. The six Saga movies are due to start their 3D-erised
re-re-release next year, which, again whether they are "any good" or not,
brings them back into the general public's view and another generation.
