   There's no rule that says a Jedi can't have a blaster. Obi-Wan simply   
   didn't like them, but Luke has used them in the Original Trilogy.   
      
   On the flip-side, there's no rule that says a Jedi (or Sith) can't use   
   a lightsabre either, but without proper training they may well cut   
   their own arms, legs, or head off while trying to do fancy moves.
