   mp4 files are most likely to use the H264(AVC) codec which is used on   
   blurays.  They need to because of the small file size.   
   I would bet a lot of people are perfectly happy with the mp4 version,   
   which is often in HD resolution, but not as good as bluray at all.   
   VCD is a specific format, and wouldn't have anything to do with mp4s.
