   But I would not make such a claim -- maybe you missed that part of   
   what I wrote.   
      
   I would say that I was from the time of the Dominion of Men, and that   
   our records of the First, Second, and Third Ages were regarded by   
   many people as no more than myths.  He should be able to accept that.   
   After all, I'll bet many people in Middle-earth in the late Third Age   
   thought the whole Eärendil story was nothing more than a "just so"   
   story to explain a bright star.
