Good to see you back, my friend! ;-)

AFT & RABT haven't really been the hotbed of film-rumours that we saw
up to and during the releases of the LotR films -- perhaps that is
one of the signs that Steuard may be right in his assessment of the
groups being at least less pro-film than they were (I am still
   uncomfortable about the term 'purist').

For myself, this is possibly a reaction to my experiences with the
LotR films -- the hype and the persistent discussion of every little
rumour may have contributed to raising my expectation to a level that
Jackson couldn't satisfy (to _my_ loss, not his!). I will certainly
go a watch both of the Hobbit films, and I expect to enjoy them even
more than I did the LotR films, but I have no desire to follow every
rumour (thus you will, for instance, see very little about the films
   in my monthly internet summaries).

For regular updates about the films (and other Tolkien-related stuff)
you might want to follow Pieter Collier, @TolkienLibrary, on Twitter
-- he seems to tweet also the film rumours ;)

Please put [AFT], [RABT] or 'Tolkien' in subject.

If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded
gold, it would be a merrier world.
