   Looking in Google Groups (for ease of reference) there are 31 threads   
   with a date from October 1st until now, and 14 of these are reported as   
   spam. Most of the spam posts are some 5000+ lines of random ranting (I   
   have never even attempted to read a full post, but what little I have   
   seen seems readable enough in its own twisted way).  With the lull in   
   activity over the past week or so the spam posts of course appear more   
   prominently, but I think they appear at a reasonably constant rate.
