   Since the above, if left alone, is a fallacious appeal to authority   
   (Rateliff has, to the best of my knowledge, no special qualifications   
   within the film industry), I'll just add that I quited him merely   
   because it seems to me that he put it very well (succinct yet precise),   
   and as the only top-rank Tolkien scholar (according to Bratman -- a   
   question in which I do consider him an authority) who openly likes the   
   Jackson /LotR/ trilogy, I thought it relevant to include his opinion   
   because his view on the films is more positive than my own.
