   Huh. My guess had always been that it would mostly involve showing   
   more things "on screen", like the White Council driving Sauron from   
   Dol Guldur or perhaps the Battle of Nanduhirion. I can only think of   
   one "made up" character I've seen mentioned so far, and I'm   
   withholding judgment on that because if they want to actually show the   
   time that Bilbo spent lurking in the Elvenking's halls then they'll   
   need to flesh it out somehow. (Not that I'd expect Bilbo to be   
   interacting with those new characters at all, but I don't have any   
   notion yet what Jackson has in mind.)

   What, *here*? Or do you just mean in general? (We've got people on the   
   groups seeming to be seriously arguing about whether Jackson's movies   
   aren't really based on Tolkien, which is crazy talk.)
