Well, riddles take longer to say out loud than read on a page. I think
the riddles scene was quite good. The riddles included were:

    Mountain
    Teeth
    Wind
    Egg
    Time

And then what's in my pocket.

Reading all riddles takes about a minute or two while the entire
riddle scene in the movie was upwards of ten-fifteen minutes long, as
can be expected since there is so much more than just two persons
sitting on a rock telling riddles

In the movie, it's Fili and Kili that urge Bilbo to go check on the
trolls because they've taken some of the ponies. The trolls dialogue
is really good. Bilbo tries to steal a knife from William to free the
ponies instead of a talking purse (which works better in children
story than in a movie, really).
