   I think he would have written it ut NEVER finished it.   
      
   The only thing that kept him from infinite rewrites of LotR was the   
   sheer physical labor of retyping every thing.  Can you imagine how it   
   would have been if he had had Microsoft Word?   
      
   Just searching on line for Tengwar fonts would have taken him years.
