   I don't agree, I think the second movie is considerably better than the   
   first one, which (though I liked it) did seem to drag in places. No so   
   this installment which felt like it didn't waste a minute of its...   
   well, about 2:30 run time if you don't count the 15 minutes of credits

   People who haven't read the book are going to be rather shocked when   
   Smaug dies 5 minutes in.   
      
   I was surprised they went as far with Smaug in this film, I expected them   
   to end it about where Bilbo meets him, but then I thought the assault on   
   Dol Wassits would be in this film.
