I'm planning on seeing it, though from the descriptions I've read I
expect to be heavily disappointed at multiple points (as I was with all
   PJ's Tolkien films so far).

Not me. I don't much care for "Action Sequences" in general, and those
involving women least of all. Galadriel was my favorite female character
in LOTR (both the books and the films) largely because her primary role
was to serve as a calm, dignified voice of reason and wisdom. I enjoyed
watching her and listening to her talk, and had no interest in seeing
   her pick up a sword.

I'm not expecting anything better, but I do expect to be mourning its
   absence afterward.
