   Gollum swears fealty to Frodo by the ring, and Frodo says that an oath by   
   the ring is not to be taken lightly.   
      
   Later, Gollum attacks Frodo and Frodo says that if he ever touches him   
   again, he shall be cast into the fire of doom as well.   
      
   Frodo is the ring-bearer and also has Gollum under his absolute power.   
      
   Tolkien himself says Iluvatar is the one that made Gollum fall into mount   
   doom, but it's a bit interesting to contemplate the "curse" as spoken by   
   Frodo being realized as well.   
      
   It's unlikely that the ring would use its power over Gollum to make an   
   curse come true that would lead to its own destruction, but interesting   
   nonetheless.
