   Ah, sorry.  That was a poor choice of words on my part.  No wonder you   
   misunderstood what I was trying to do.   
      
   In the words "playing at merging universes" above, the verb is "playing",   
   that's what I'm trying to do.  The word "merging" is an adjective   
   describing a property of the universes.   
      
   I'm not actively merging two universes, aggressively forcing them   
   together and shaping them to my will.  (That might be in keeping with the   
   macho alpha-male you imagine yourself to be, but it's really not my   
   style.)  Instead, I'm just trying to play around with ideas, showing that   
   the stories could already take place in the same universe, so there's no   
   need to force them together.   
      
   Perhaps if I'd said, "playing at merged universes," instead, we could've   
   avoided this confusion.  Sorry about that.   
      
   Anyway. since the rest of your post was just continuing this   
   misunderstanding about me actively merging universes, it's probably best   
   if I just snip it, rather than waste everyone's time going through it   
   point by point.
