   Which mission are you referring to?  The destruction of the ring or the   
   assembling outside the Black Gate?   
      
   WRT the ring destruction, given that Sauron was not aware of where it   
   was, it would not have been wise to discuss it with him.   
      
   WRT the assembling outside the Black Gate, at that time, it was never   
   considered as a serious attempt at winning by warfare.
