   He was Catholic whole his life and he worked with the English committee of the   
   Jerusalem Bible. He probably used the Douay Reihms version before the   
   Jerusalem Bible. I would disagree that he used the King James much, since it   
   was and still is the    
   official translation of the protestant Church of England. Animosities between   
   English Catholics and Anglicans were very bad during his time.
