I received my letter in 1974 (I had sent a letter to Ballantine Books,
which published the calendars, which somehow made it to Rayner Unwin,
chairman of Tolkien's UK publisher, who sent a copy to Christopher Tolkien,
who sent me a reply. He dated his letter 1973 in error though it referred
   to a letter I dated 1974...not my most-misdated letter received,as I
got a letter from Hamilton Fish the third (1888-1991) in January 1990
   that was dated 2990).

Feh,Tolkien fans are elite,ST fans are fools, and those who are both
   are mixed up.
