|    Re: Movies Ruined by Their Endings    |

The problem with this one for me is that Bill Murray would never have       answered the hotel room door and hurt the feelings of the girl he was       falling in love with,~this was mean to say the least and his character       was not mean......he wasn't even attracted to the redhead~..... doesn't       work for me....              he should have had an affair with the younger girl~seems like what I       would have done if that character~.                              Movies Ruined by Their Endings       1. "Lost In Translation"~not even close~Bill Murray would never have       gone off the with red headed singer and hurt the girl's       feeling that he       was falling in love with ~ out of Character~and should not have left       Japan When he did ~and last parts of movie ruined the whole meaning and       the movie.....not true to characters~but funny first part, for sure...       ~       2." Titanic" still don't want to see the movie again because Kate       Winslet's lover Leo Dicaprio       drowned in such a unpleasant fashion in the icy water and ruined the       film after all he went through to get both of them off the       boat. ~great       song       ~       3."Gladiator" hated ending where he, Russell Crowe, dies       after all the       trouble to get rid of the Roman King. wanted him to go off with the       beautiful Queen Connie Nielsen.       ~       4. "Proof of Life" wanted Meg Ryan to go off with Russell       Crowe instead       of her "husband"       ~       5." Star Wars " where Liam Neesom gets killed instead of bad guy.       6.others       ~       7.Why don't the movie Critics give more honest reviews about       films?~sometimes they must just want their names on the       boxes~but rent       the movies and it's hardly thumbs up~       cat pushed send button above       ~       j. nottingham       april 2004       Seems that you only like happy endings. Imagine if Casablanca had a       "happy" ending with Bogart getting on the plane with Ingrid Bergman at       the end. It wouldn't have been half the film it is. I think that "sad"       endings are often much more uplifting, real and moving.       Take "lost in translation" for example. I disagree with you, I think the       ending was very touching and that the Murray (Bob) and Johansson       (Charlotte) stayed perfectly in character. One reason why it is touching       is that it seems real. We get what we want when Bob spots Charlotte from       the cab, runs after her and holds her. They show each other their true       feelings, after the rather awkward (but realistic I think) goodbye in       the hotel lobby. It would admittedly have been a bit too bleak without       that scene.       Mike              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
