|    Woody and music    |

From: dfreem3@nospam.shaw.ca              Woody is famous for playing old time jazz and for dislking modern       popular music. I can't remember all the negative scenes he's written       about rock n roll. I find this a bit strange, as during Woody's       lifetime, there have been some remarkable developments in popular music.       Is Woody really unaware of Bob Dylan's lyrics, Lou Reeds, or Talking       Heads', just to mention a New York perspective.              In his latest movie, Woody has the characters go to a club to hear Diana       Krall and she is presented masterfully, and compared to Billy Holliday.       I find this ironic, as for us lovers of popular music, Diana Krall is       considered to be a bland singer and not the kind of influence we would       like for her new husband, Elvis Costello. Meanwhile, Costello has       released an album of piano jazz with interesting lyrics. Does Woody know       about this, I wonder.              Woody needs some inspiration in his life. I wonder if Soon-Yi's taste in       music is any good? Perhaps the great singer-songwriters should make a       tribute album to Woody to get him listening. It could be called Song to       Woody.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
