That's not why I hate them. First, I hate coffee. That crap don't pass
my lips. Even with booze in it. As for chains, I hate that "other" chain
much more than I do Horton's.

Here's why I hate Timmy's: Here in Columbus there were several small
chains that were on their way to going nationwide. Columbus has long
been a testing ground for food franchise ideas to see if they can make
it big time. That's how Horton's owner Wendy's got it's start - right
downtown an East Broad St. We've been know as the fast food capitol for
quite a while. Back in the late 80's there were several small Columbus-
only chains that I think would have gone big-time. One of my favorite's
   was Back Yard Burgers.

They had these tiny drive-thru only street side stores - and they
really tasted like something that you'd make in your back yard. A real
burger that resembled real hamburger - not that gray extruded shit that
McDonald's calls a burger. I just did a search on Back Yard Burgers and
found that there's a Southern US franchise, but this has nothing to do
with the franchise I'm referring to as far as I know.

Well, along comes Wendy's to spoil my hamburger heaven - the bastards
buy up Tim Horton's and they need to find as many places to put these
fucking dry-asses "dough-nut" stores as they can as fast as they can.
They ran around Columbus in a fucking whirlwind and bought up every
local independent hot dog store, every small hamburger chain, pizza
chain, you name it, those cunts at Wendy's bought it all. Within a month
all of my favorite food places were gone and being converted to Tim
Horton's. At the time I was a document courier, so I spent all day and
night driving all over the city and sampling all of the foods to be had.
Not after Tim Horton's got here.

You want something to eat quick? It's Wendy's, McDonald's, Burger King,
Arby's (who don't know how to make a sandwich) - they homogenized this
city - You used to be able to find fun and interesting foods here before
Wendy's flooded us with Horton's. And I'm not exaggerating about being
flooded. They crammed a Horton's in every fucking crack that they could
find. They're all gone today, because of the lukewarm response Horton's
received - I think because they flooded us all at one. Now you can
mainly find them in a Wendy's/Horton's store - one side is Wendy's, the
other half Horton's - a sort of Jeckell/Hyde smashing together. And to
be honest - Wendy Burgers are pretty damn good.
