They don't use the best looking tomatoes to       > make salsa, anyway.              This is true - the girlfriend taught me how to can tomatoes this past       season. We made salsa, canned whole tomatoes, etc. We found a spaghetti       meat sauce recipe in an old Ball Jar recipe book circa late 40's that we       decided to give a shot. We could have added some tomato sauce so that       when you opened it up you just had to add spaghetti noodles. We decided       to leave that out and just can the meat/flavorings and add Hunt's garlic       & herb sauce when it was time to eat. It was a good fucking decision!       I've eaten good spaghetti all my life - my step-grandmother was born in       Rome - and she could cook. But this shit turned out better that the best       Italian joints I've been to. We just canned our second batch. This       Monday will be when we try batch #2.              --       St. Jackanapes       -------------------------------       Anti-Jesus Forum: http://www.voy.com/20630/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
