   Bullies and other abusers are stuck in deflection mode, personal attacks   
   when their position is based solely on a show of force instead of a solid   
   foundation. They resort to personal attacks on anyone who would dare to   
   question their position. Common sense says they are insecure, but studies   
   of bullies show instead the exact opposite, hyper-esteem. I see it in   
   abusive religious leaders and in a multitude of AGW proponents.
