   Considering that Canada's oil sand project has more oil than Saudi Arabia's   
   reserves and along with Russia and Australia, has more than 75% of the   
   world's uranium and its own home grown nuclear power industry, while 80% of   
   its electrical power is from either nuclear but mostly hydro electric with   
   little reliance on coal, I think that it's cool that Canada is still seeking   
   energy alternatives.    It's just too bad that the oil sands project uses   
   almost double the BTUs in energy through natural gas to produce a single BTU   
   equivalent of oil.   And most of that oil is exported to the USA and China.   
      
   The first refinery built in North America in the last 20 years was up at Ft.   
   McMurray at the oil sands and the pipeline doesn't go east or south to the   
   USA, it goes to the port of Vancouver where tankers are filled and off to   
   Asia they go.   
      
      
   But The Phantom doesn't know fuck all about Canada or how its a net exporter   
   of energy, while the USA relies on imports.   Canada even supplied the   
   uranium for the Manhattan project.
