The Pharasees were, and always had been,       staunch believers in the existence of God. Whether or not they       accepted that Jesus might have been God is completely irrelevant to       that question - they STILL believe in the existence of God.              Maybe they had heard Jesus stating time and time again that God was       his FATHER and that God was GREATER then him (Jesus) and that God knew       things that he did not know. If they had concluded that Jesus was not       God himself would that have made them someone who denies the existence       of God? Of course not.              And Jesus was not even castigating them for their 'atheism' but       because of their religious TEACHING which he disapproved of. Their       religious teaching was intrenched and well known and was there long       before Jesus came along              I guess I'm not getting anywhere with this. You have made up your mind       that he was castigating them as adulterous for asking for a sign       because of their atheism and you won't be shifted from it. I do       wonder what your agenda is in this.              William              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
