   > The Bible says it is a tunnel dug to hide water from the Assyrians.

Why are the tunnel walls 500 odd years older than the inscription within,
which was cut near Hezekiah's time? Perhaps the tunnel was cut to hide
water from some earlier war party, but no one was recording such events at
that time. The scientific dating of the walls is pretty indicative that the
bible made a false claim about the age of the tunnel.
