Yes Greeks populated different lands also territory belonged to modern
Italy and Turkey. After after respond for clashes with ancient Persians
they really built such sophisticated city as Alexandria in Egypt.

Any way the word "psychology" has Greek Origin.
The idea to establish science as different subjects is also Greek.
And idea of NATO was first present in Athena's Sea Union
   (where Greeks had leading role).
