   Here is a thread for flaming teevee psychologist "Dr." Phil and his show.   
   "Dr." Phil is the most annoying asshole I've seen, he reminds me of a   
   xian preecher who spouts psychobabble instead of scripture to prove his   
   patients are sinners.  In fact, the entire attitude of psychology seems   
   religious in nature, claiming that it has some special insight into the   
   nature of man, and it has been granted considerable legal power based on   
   that belief (e.g. the testimony of psychologists in criminal cases is   
   often used to punish someone, such as prison psychologists who testify   
   under oath that a prisoner is unsuitable for parole due to his lack of   
   remorse and repeated denial of his guilt, even if the person was innocent   
   and later had his conviction overturned on DNA evidence).
